Republished in 2000 by Redwood Edition, Hinkler book distributors.

Age level Birth/ Kindergarten to Upper Primary.

This book follows the life of Shy, a female platypus, describing aspects of the biology (the science of the physical life of plants and animals) of the platypus Ornithorhynchus anatinus - Orni thor incus).

It is an interesting story filled with adventures and cliffhangers. It has a lot of text so it would be a nice bed-time story to have read to you.

Learning to spell the scientific name of the platypus can be lots of fun! Ask an adult to help you practice.
